What it is
Heating work covers radiators and their positions, pipework, underfloor heating (wet and electric), heated towel rails and the connections back to your heating system. We plan it as part of a renovation, extension or new room, rather than as a separate job afterwards.
Who it is for
It suits anyone changing a layout, extending, renovating a bathroom or kitchen, or living with rooms that are always too cold, too hot or slow to warm up.
When you need it
The best time to change heating is while floors and walls are open during other work. Other signs include cold spots, radiators in the wrong place for a new layout, noisy or leaking pipework, and extensions with large glazed walls.
Why professional help matters
Heating affects almost every other trade. Pipes run under floors and inside walls, radiators need to be positioned before joinery and decoration, and underfloor heating is laid within the floor build-up. When heating is added after the rest of the work, floors are lifted and walls re-decorated. Planning it with the renovation avoids that.

Heating: materials, methods and options
The right heating depends on the room, the floor and how you use the space. These are the options we plan most often.
Radiators
Traditional column radiators suit period homes, while slim panel and vertical designs work in modern spaces or tight walls. Position matters: under windows to counter cold air, and away from where furniture or units will sit.
Wet underfloor heating
Pipes laid within the floor screed give gentle, even warmth, ideal for extensions, kitchens and open-plan rooms. It is laid during the build, before the finished floor.
Electric underfloor heating
Thin electric mats suit bathrooms and smaller rooms being renovated, where lifting the floor for pipework is not practical.
Heated towel rails
Towel rails can run on the heating system, on electric, or both, so the bathroom stays warm and towels dry outside the heating season.
Heating with floor finishes
Tile and stone conduct heat well over underfloor heating. Engineered timber can work with the right specification. Solid timber and thick carpets need more care. We match the heating to the floor you choose.

Can underfloor heating go in an existing room?
Often, yes. Electric mats suit many existing rooms. Wet systems are usually best fitted when the floor is being replaced or in a new extension.
Can you move radiators as part of a renovation?
Yes. Radiator positions are agreed at the planning stage and the pipework is moved during first fix.
Do you do heating on its own, or only with other work?
Heating is usually planned as part of a wider project. Call us to talk through what you need and we will tell you how we can help.
Which floors work best with underfloor heating?
Tile and stone work very well. Engineered timber and some other finishes can work with the right specification. We plan the heating and flooring together.
How much does heating cost in Bromley?
